This month things were really moving!
Dr. Lauren Johnson started us off with a well planned and highly educational talk about small mammal nutrition. She had a wonderful print out for us that I will be posting on the website soon. After giving us so much information, she then quizzed us & handed out oxbow products as prizes!!
Jonathan Nix was going to do his seminar on hibernation, but changed his venue to cover the new laws that are being passed in Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, Greenville & Greenville County. These laws cover "exotic" animals as well as dogs & cats and that could mean your guinea pig, parakeet, iguana, mouse or even a salt water clown fish.
We also had the swap meet going on throughout the meeting. There were cages, food, toys, acessories, clothes, hides, running balls and even hedgehogs available.
Alice, Cesar & Amy won the costume contest! Pictures will be posted soon. They were great. Honerable mentions go to Bowser the Bunny as "Bat Bunny", Chica the Guinea Pig who was a "Present" and Fuzz the Hairless Rat who was a "Sock Ghost". The winners received a Kaytee food certificate good for $10.00.
We revisited the next months calendar events and continuing plans to gain 501 C 3 status.
Apple cider, sunny D and coffee were provided by Tina. Jessica M brought chips, dip and a veggie tray. Alice made some delicious cookies. Tina brought a cherry & a sweet potatoe pie. The sweet potatoe was donated to the firemen at the station.
Thanks to everyone who showed up & helped us make this wonderful turnout!
